Ok, so check this out. I worked this festival last summer, the White Mountain Unity Festival. It was raging, small, early season, cold, but a good time. Just good kids, not the average cutsy jerk-offs. It was a small Family Festival. I worked this festival with a kid of mine, he is an amazing wrapper who is falling away from his trade, which really sucks. Wow, too many tangents, back the topic at hand. We payed like $250 for a vending spot, a good friend of mine was involved with the whole shabam and hooked us up. We did not do very well, like I said, it was very small, we were selling really bad ass crystals and wraps. I think it would be wise of some of us to creat sort of a coallition, did I spell that right? Anyway, a coallition of hand crafters, bringing our products to these festivals, spliting the cost of the vending site and raging it up. We can all agree that there is power in numbers. I feel that we need to help eachother out. Handcraft webrings are cool, but for those who do not have a website, yet have some awesome products to get out into the world, it could be very beneficial. If anyone has any input, let me know. I know that it may be a little too late in the season to apply for festival vending sites, but maybe for next year. Let me tell you, it was a blast. Nothing is more fun than setting up shop, kickin it with cool cats and ultimatly getting paid for it. Some of these festivals are pretty decently priced, and most seem to give four wrist bands with every site, so if there was like teams of 4, we can go up to any of these festivals and steal the show. We would all share a site, and that is fun as well. Sharing space in that sort of situation, for me anyway, was a rockin time. So yeah, bounce some ideas around and let me know whats up!
