Right now I don't have a regular job so all I do during my ample free time is build my stock in preparation for future sales.
I'm also seeking to collaborate with several other crafters to hold sales at my house on weekends. I have a large yard so I have room for about 5 booths. I'm interested in organising a regular boutique faire with other crafters.

crafts - macrame/ hemp - reteaching myself the macrame...going a little slow, candles, leaf-printed shirts, beadwork, splatter painted randomness (wood crafts, canvases, dressers), recycled paper stationary, photgraphs, and starting to reteach myself to sew by hand and on the machine...scary fast moving needle!
pretty much everything i have learned from mom/gramma or at girlscout camp :) reteaching myself some things (see above) :)
i mostly give things away as gifts, but sometimes i'll sell something if it is seen by someone and they really like it.
i'd like to eventually start some sort of more organized business. my grampa and i have done some conversing - he fixes up antiques and makes random woodcrafts and metal crafts (ex: chairs out of old milk cans)
no to everything else, too....very basic right now. but it'll get there :)

Thu, November 10, 2005 - 8:37 PMHi, I'm James from Lightning Ridge Australia, (home of the black opal).
I cut opal, sapphire and zircon (natural of course).
I do a bit of goldsmithing from time to time.
It is a full time occupation.
I sell to those in the trade here in town, to international visitors, and on ebay. i do the Tucson and Quartsite shows.
I would like to visit the Pacific NW next year and sell at some of the festies you have there.
cheers,
James -

Re: IMPORTANT- craft profile!
Thu, November 17, 2005 - 12:41 PMDo you make cabochons out of the stones you cut? I guess those aren't really the right kind of stones, huh? Those opals and saphires are faceted.
I ask because I just taught myself to bead a cabochon and I am so pleased with the results. I really want to buy some more beautiful stones to bead.
