when i was a kid growing up, i had a neighbor who made these and they were gorgeous.
she took chicken wire and made a cone with it. about 3 or 4 feet tall, and then using pine cones wired them to the chicken wire. decorated with only red bows. she strung lights thru the wire before she attached the pine cones.
scenting would also be great: cinnamon sticks, orange and apple slices, etc.
it seems like at some point we had discussed this (on another tribe), but it must have been last year, so im reposting it. i'm hoping that i will have the time to make some this year, maybe three of different sizes to put in my front yard.

Fri, July 31, 2009 - 9:05 PMI did end up making a small one, but as it usually goes with first time projects it didnt' hold up that well, so I'm going to try again this year. I was just telling the hubby that we need to go on a pine cone run since his mom cut all her trees down!
